K'arci bah Vutavcah
Posted by: Reius Rothschild, Chiss Ascendancy
Date: Year 18 Day 130 Onboard the Modular Taskforce Cruiser [CHISS] Valkyr in system Fwatna (-38, -438).

"K'eb, Csilla(CPIN)  Meeting with reporters this week, SaVessiat Bernarda Arlos read a statement from Crahsyndic Prard`aga Rono. Arlos, Csilla Press Liaison for the Chiss Ascendancy, explained that the Crahsyndic's statement represents the intent of the Ruling Circle."

"First of all, I will not be commenting on the reorganization of the Rift Alliance into the Rim Commonality. This matter will be addressed by a press release that will be given by Archon Solarius Masha at a later date. While the Chiss Cabinet has input, there are some affairs to be completed and so until the completion of those affairs, the Chiss Ascendancy has no comment on the Rim Commonality. What I will discuss today is the way forward for the Chiss Ascendancy."

"When the Chiss Houses choose the Galactic Alliance side in the Galactic Civil War, it was not an easy decision. There was much debate and those who had long favored us joining the Galactic Alliance in their war against the Imperial Union won that discussion. However, it has been decided that our decision to select a side in the Galactic Civil War has not yielded benefits sufficient to balance the cost of a such a weighted decision. For this reason, the Chiss Ascendancy has elected to return to a position of neutrality in the Galactic conflict."

"The survival of Chiss Society is our penultimate concern. It is what has allowed us to survive when so many have fallen, when others declared that we should 'leave it dead and buried'. We remain committed to the Treaty of Csilla as it keeps us connected to our homeworld, as any people would wish to remain connected to their home. It is part of who we are and what defines us as a people. We also remain committed to Chiss Society. The dedication of citizens, both Chiss and Non-Chiss alike, has allowed us to continue long past when our critics declared us finished. Our Dual Citizens, whose support has been critical to our continued growth. And finally, our allies who have contributed to our success. But that is the past, but what of the present? Better yet, what of the future?"

"That is why I am proud to announce that on day 139, the Chiss Ascendancy will host the first annual K'arci bah Vutavcah. For those unfamiliar with Chiss history and culture, the K'arci bah Vutavcah was the annual festival which brought together all the Chiss Houses in the city of the Chiss Sages under a banner of truce. The last K'arci bah Vutavcah to be held was over five thousand years ago, ending centuries of civil disputes between the Chiss Houses and leading to the founding of the original Chiss Ascendancy."

"The history of the Chiss Ascendancy over the last decade has not been a story of unity, but one of disputes that have rivaled those of the past. Only the restraint of our leaders has prevented these disputes from becoming as bloody."

"You have all seen the chaos gripping the Kriz and Varada sectors. While the Chiss Ascendancy established an embassy to coordinate relief efforts and to repatriate any citizens of the Empire of the Hand who want to join the Chiss Ascendancy, the economic and political uncertainty continues. The chaos unfolding there should be on the minds of every Chiss in the galaxy."

"The K'arci bah Vutavcah will be a summit for all Chiss to gather and to celebrate our history, reward accomplishments and plan for the future. Among those accomplishments will be the Io Toda award winners for Years 16 and 17, the only award to the Chiss Ascendancy grants to an outside. Other than Io Toda himself, the other winners were Kara DuMonte and Biffs Maximus for their assistance in the treaty of Csilla. The winner is someone who has excelled in supporting the Chiss Ascendancy, despite having no affiliation and not being a Chiss."

"The K'arci bah Vutavcah will be an opportunity for Chiss from across the galaxy to engage in trade and learn more about Chiss history and culture. Attendance will be granted to all Citizens of the Chiss Ascendancy, and any Chiss from anywhere in the galaxy. For this reason, the Exile List has been wiped, as per tradition and any Chiss may attend. Non-Chiss may attend if they are a member of a Chiss House."

"We will also announce our new calendar and cultural education program. The K'arci bah Vutavcah played a role in unifying Chiss Society, and it will again. The Chiss Houses shall be summoned to put aside ambition, bury the specter of the past and march towards our shared vision of the future."

"The K'arci bah Vutavcah will be held at the Vocehn Hotel and Nightclub here in Keb, with holonet accommodations available for those unable to attend in person. More information will be provided on the Galactic Holonet."
