Viceroy Terminates Agreement
Posted by: Corbin Esco, Trade Federation
Date: Year 0 Day 1 Onboard the L-500 Space Liner TFN Enchantment in system Loronar.
The holovid before you flashes to life relaying an image of an ornate office overlooking a serene coast. Seated at a desk near the huge transparasteel window, and illuminated by a fast fading sun, sits the Viceroy of the Trade Federation.

"Greetings to you all," he starts. "I have come before you today to discuss some decisions which, in retrospect, may have been made a little hastily. I'm sure many of you by now have read the statement I released to the GNS about Jedi Knight Felix Darque and his visit to Vinsoth."

The Viceroy takes another moment and slides back into his elegant chair, "I see now that I had not adequately examined the situation as thoroughly as I should." Again a pause.

"My father was a great man," he says softly. "-and one things he taught me was a real man is never above admitting his own mistakes. It is with that in mind that I announce I have indeed made an error in judgment, one which I will rectify now."

Corbin straightens a bit in his chair, an aura of authority visibly seeping back into him. "It never occurred to me where these funds truly originated, and I thank a trio of men for bringing the details to my attention...even if I did resent their method." He says with a soft chuckle.

"The men know who they are, and I thank them. But on to the topic at hand. It is with great thought I must go back and cease the Federation's agreement to work with the Jedi Darque on this matter. The Trade Federation has been talked of as being the last bastion of fair trade. How then could I knowingly join and back a fund that is established from credits stolen themselves. The answer is simple: I can't."

"Effective immediately, all relations in regards to this fund have been ceased."

"Now, while I definitely disagree with the methods used to start this fund, I believe the idea as a whole is a noble one. I therefore will be establishing our own fund. Starting tomorrow the Trade Federation Asset Reimbursement Fund will be created. Our goal will be similar to that of the predecessor from which the idea was drawn."

"Those of you who have been wronged, or have grievances regarding trade or commerce are encouraged to contact us." His confident smile falters just a bit. "I'm afraid, however, that we couldn't begin to approach the assets necessary to return all stolen property in the galaxy...but we can try."

"I will personally review each case, and render a judgment of compensation as best I can. Keep in mind I will be doing this solely from our own funds, so be understanding if the entire balance of your loss is unmanageable. I would like nothing more to be able to return it all, but we all know that is impossibility."

"I thank you all for your time, and most of all for your understanding."

With that the Viceroy goes back to a datapad he had been working on. As the holocam zooms in you can see it's the official order to establish the Trade Federation Asset Reimbursement fund. The holocam lingers on the picture, watching as the words are entered. "...so that each theif will be held responsible for their actions."

The Viceroy then chuckles a bit and backspaces to spell thief correctly.

The seal of the Trade Federation replaces the image. Then details about submitting requests for compensation stream across the terminal.

Please submit all requests to viceroy@swctradefederation.com. Include the amount lost, the parties involved, and any proof you have. Be sure to make the subject "TFAR: " and your handle.
