Hey everyone, just a quick update on the faction checks.

Overall, we've had a positive response, despite the checks being quite strict this time. A lot of people had notice the decline in the quality of faction websites over the past 8 months, so were pleased that someone finally got round to running the checks.

We are aiming to clarify the rules so that everyone knows what is expected from their sites in the future, and to prevent people getting confused with what they can and can't do.

However, here's the tough part.

We will be redoing the checks in 2 weeks time (Day 357), so everyone knows how much time they have to sort this. If you don't think you can do it in that time, we actually tried it out. Arjuna completed a passable faction website, with images and a faction description in less than half an hour. It doesn't take much time, even from scratch, and a lot of you have very little which needs to be done in order to pass. However, if you fail the next set of checks, the fines will be double, so 2 million credits per fail. We will only be checking the failed sites from the last check, so if you've passed this round, don't worry :). If you fail the second test, you will be rechecked 2 weeks after that (Year 12 Day 6), and you will be looking at 3 million credits per fail.... so don't fail the second time :P (or third or fourth for that matter)

Also, if you have not paid yet, you have 1 week (up to Day 350) to pay your fines. If they're not paid within this week, we will have to remove the fines from your account. We don't want to do that, so if we have to, we'll take double, either in credits, or random assets in combine value.

Sorry about the bad news, but this needs to be done in order to get these faction websites up to spec.

Now, to clarify a few points which have brought up with us recently:

- You cannot re-use any articles for 2 or more different requirements. Each requirement needs it's unique set of text.

- If you use a shared website, the articles you use for your faction must relate to your faction. i.e. if you use a shared News page for your IC text, you need a news report relating to each faction using it. (If you only use one news report for all, it will only count towards one of the factions. At least put a bit of effort in :P)

- If you advertise jobs available on your website, that is classed as Join Information, and not IC Text. Likewise, Products or Services do not count as IC text.

- Lists and Tables do not count as IC text. We're looking for paragraphs. If your IC text is about your faction's departments, then you need to describe what they do. Simply stating the name of that division, and/or the division leader will not do.

- Forums are not considered a website, regardless of whether or not the information is there. It must be clearly displayed.

(This sim news is likely to be edited to clarify more points when questions arise, just some prior warning.)

Please, please, please just don't do the bare minimum! You can if you want to, but there are some amazing faction websites out there, which really help the game. Even just a few more news posts to show that there's more going on in the galaxy will improve gameplay!

As usual, If people think we've missed something, I'll happily recheck your faction page if you can point out where we've missed out (if you don't point it out, I'm likely to miss it again :|), so email jenos@swcombine.com if you think you've been wronged. All other questions, comments and complaints go to assistants@swcombine.com. The new faction check rules will be up as soon as we can get them up.

(Bumped so people don't complain that they've not seen this)
