Falleen Federation Welcomes the New King

Envoys hailing from points all across Galactic Alliance space and beyond gathered on Day 151 at the Falleen Naval Yard to witness the coronation ceremony of the next sovereign of the Falleen Federation, His Majesty, King Rick Farlander S.L.

Among those in attendance were the vicars of Falleen Clans Huruk-Rah and Ghera`jh, as well as delegations representing the New Republic, the Triumvirate Coalition, the Krath Dynasty, the Jedi Order, Rogue Squadron, the Freedom Warriors, Ankh Biomedical Services, CryoMed Laboratories and the Chiss Ascendancy.

The ascension of King Farlander comes after the retirement from political life of the former Mindano Clan sovereign, King Bisz Aldaris C.R S.L. whose name has been synonymous with the Falleen Federation since Year 5. Regent to King Aldaris since Year 11, King Farlander has been carefully groomed for this appointment and his cornation marks the beginning of a new age under the reign of Clan Chir`Dorna.

Security was strict around the Falleen Naval Yard, one of several facilities which are producing the Federation's line of Mon Calamari Home One star cruisers, as dignitaries from across the galaxy assembled to honor the ascension of the next Falleen monarch, His Majesty, King Rick Farlander.

What began as a solemn and formal ceremony ended up becoming the biggest gala event of Year 13, as King Farlander's supporters and allies packed the sprawling decks of the Naval Yard to celebrate his crowning. Deputy Minister Sir Jink Knwldg, K.R. Taâ??shir of the Chir`dorna Clan acted as Master of Ceremonies for this auspicious event, and following the highly ritualized coronation the royal chamber was filled with the cheers of hundreds in attendance. As is often the custom among the Falleen, the formal event was followed by an impressive schedule of gaming and recreation which has yet to be concluded. This comes at a time of increasing Imperial propaganda campaigns and domestic threats, which event security chief Minister Sir Shae Briston K.R. refers to as "not a significant issue".

Asked to comment on Clan involvement with Federation politics, Minister Prince Jado Dur`rik Ta'shir of the Huruk-rah Clan issued the following statement.

"The Noble Falleen clans will always play an important role in the politics of the Falleen Federation. If not for the struggles of the clans in the past, the Federation as we know it would not exist. I know that I can speak for the Huruk-rah, Ghera`jh, and Mindano clans when I say that we pray that Kiyorath Dihn watches over and guides Clan Chir`dorna and their Nathran, King Rick Farlander throughout his reign."

Arbra -- Over the past few weeks, representatives of the Arkanian Royal Engineers and the Jedi Order have been holding private congress at the Arkanian headquarters on Arbra. Details of this assembly have included topics of unification between the two organizations and the creation of a new governing body.

Earlier today, Arkanian President Nat Dues and Jedi Grand Master Thragg Craghorn met with press in order to officially confirm the formation of the Jedi Coalition. Along with Arkanian founder Gavin Kaos and Mistress of Sabers Onasha Katr, the leaders of the new government reaffirmed their commitment to the principles of freedom and equality that these groups were founded on. When questioned about the reasons for this change, President Dues responded by saying, "We believe our groups complement each other well and share common interests. With the combined identity and ability of the Jedi Order and the infrastructure of Arkanian, we can provide the Galactic Alliance with a strong ally in its war against the illegitimate galactic government."

The formation of the Jedi Coalition marks the end of the Arkanian Corporation as an independent business venture. Founded mid-Year 8 as a banking company, Arkanian Enterprises soon became the first private sector affiliate of the New Republic. Over the past five years, the group has gone through several incarnations as Arkanian Trade Syndicate and the Arkanian Royal Engineers and has established itself as one of the premier privately-owned shipbuilders in the galaxy.

The Jedi Order, also founded mid-Year 8 as the Jedi Academy, marked a turning point in a turmoilous and decentralized organization of the Jedi - a decentralization that had existed since the corruption of Kal Fisto and the dissolution of the Jedi Praxium in Year 6.

While the name has changed, their goals and resolve have not. Grand Master Craghorn responded to accusations that the Jedi Order was growing too influential in galactic politics by stating, "The Jedi Order will remain intact and will continue as the galaxy`s leader in finding and training individuals in the traditions of the Jedi. We will serve in a role as peacekeepers, philosophers and instructors on responsible use of the Force and the way of the Jedi, which has existed since 25,699 BCGT.â?? The Order has pledged the support of their Jedi and those sentients who serve in the Service Corps, while their Arkanian counterparts will provide the civilian services necessary to ensure the Coalition`s continued growth and defense.

When pressed more about the merger, Master Craghorn declined further comment about the organization and structure of the organization citing the ongoing diplomatic process. He did, however, state that: â??Councilor Colin Saracco`s initial work was instrumental in seeing that this came to fruition and Councilor Onasha Katr`s work on the diplomatic front was impeccable.â?? He also went on to say that. â?? ...a joint address to our citizenry will be made from the steps of the Jedi Temple on Ossus.â??
