Sounds like a bug too. You can just empty a crate and then recrate it, and boom, unprotected crate. The problem may be when you try to recrate individual items that are a combination of protected and unprotected, I suppose.

not sure about RMs but i know when you have a protected crate of items and you take one (or all) out they are then unprotected.

When a RM pile is protected, and you split the selected protected pile, it creates an unprotected pile.
Should protected RM piles be creating unprotected piles when split or is that bug?
