Is there some way of knowing where you can enter a building? I asked on the IRC and was told top-left corner, but that doesn't seem to match any building i've been to except one.

i just stand right beside the building to enter it

but you must be on the building's crewlist to enter it

You can enter from anywhere next to the building however when you exit you'll be at the top left corner, you were probably just told the top left corner as it's really annoying to enter from one side leaving your ship there and then have to walk back to it.
