Join a faction and recive salery, get yourself a ship and do transport jobs as a freelance, exchange cps for credits or save your cps and get a ship to sell, or do transport jobs.

Phyrss also does a drawing for all newbies on the combine periodically. I havent kept up with that in a while, but I think he still does it. I would see the many ways to help the combine and earn CP's to convert to ships or credits.
