I've created my characte and am ready to rock. However when i get to the starter page (chose starting destination) there's a sign at the bottom of the page saying something like 'need iframes enabled' or something. I'm using Mozilla Firefox and i can't choose a faction yet (would go against the character i've created). do i have to chose a faction to start?

Are you sure you are using the latest version of Firefox? Since Firefox doesn't come with a built-in option to disable iframes, please make sure your configuration settings don't block them and you don't have an add-on installed that blocks iframes for you.

SWC is designed to work best in Firefox, and there are many things that often don't work as they're supposed to in IE, especially older versions.

could you guys give an example of some kind of add-on or whatever that might block iframes? i don't have a clue what to look for.....

NoScript is probably the most popular of those addons, which can all be viewed at Firefox's website.

this is getting ridiculous. i can find no reason for this not to work. i have no add-ons in firefox. i've also tried to do this with internet explorer and opera with no success. I have mcafee security center and thought i might have something to do with it. so i tried shutting it down. still no success........i don't know what else to look for. i guess i'm not meant to participate in the combine...
