Eboda Raas	KDY has an outpost that we would like to transform into Xfactory then upgrade to a Shipyard 2. Is this possible? Can we transform directly into a shipyard 2 ? The rules page is unclear on this. Cheers

Tyr DeMeer	no, you can only transform to the next step. A outpost can only be transformed into a space colony, not a shipyard, R&D, defense and so on. ____________

Khan	not quite Biggus. You may transform any of the old stations into its new type. ie: you can transform an old 'Custom Shipyard I' into a X7 Factory Station or you could transform a 'Custom Outpost' (like you have) into a Space Colony I. OR You may upgrade any of the old stations into the type above its current type. ie: you can upgrade an old 'Custom Shipyard I' into a Shipyard II or you could upgrade a 'Custom Outpost' into Space Colony II OR into a type 1 of each of the classes (Shipyard, R&D, Recycling, Defence). You may upgrade or transform, not both. You must have the datacard to do any of this though. ____________ Kids these days!

Tyr DeMeer	yeah, but since he used the word outpost I assumed he had one of the old outpost types. That is only with the 3 starting modules. And if I am not misstaken you can only go space colony from there? ____________

Khan	nah, those are considered the Space Colony type under the new stations. You can transform them into a new Space Colony or up to Space Colony II or to the first type of any class. ____________ Kids these days!
