I am trying to collect some ships I have been assigned as pilot, but after getting to the location I am not give the option to put it under NPC control in the manage piloted ships section. Just wondering if its a bug or am I doing something wrong.

The ships you're trying to NPC need to be the same type of ship that you are flying, and only fighters and a few freighters can be NPCed.
