I have a few questions to regarding accounts. Before I get to the question, however, I'll state the problem:
I joined the combine a while back with one of my email accounts. I've been playing since. My friend hears about it and wants to join, but he only has free email accounts. So in turn, he creates his character with my second email account, via the mail he'll recieve must be forwarded from me. At this point would it be considered multi - acounts? Also, he could not figure out how to cross terrain on Barab I, so to help him, he gave me his password and I entered the combine (while my character was off-line) and helped him with that only. Here's the other question: how does thec combine check for multi-accounts? I.P.'s? Another thing, I went to his house today and while we were there, he checked his character, and I checked mine. [I am currently in hyperspace and he is still traveling to the next city]
I want to know if we've broken any rules and how the combine checks fpr multi accounts. reason why is because we don't want to be banned and when we saw the sim news [about that guy and his multi - accounts] for a minute, we thought it was ours. In short, I hope we are not braking any rules and would like to know how the combine checks for multi - accounts so we won't make the combine think we are, if you understand what i'm trying to imply. If for further information you need to know our characters, here they are:
Me [Brian Peppers] ~ Bresin Wegre
Friend [Tyler Cooper] ~ Bob erixan
If you will be sharing a connection--a single computer or multiple computers on a network--with other SWC players on a permanent or occasional basis, you need to register as multis with them. If it is a one-time thing, generally notifying multi-account@swc is enough. But this should be done before it happens.
You are never [ever] allowed to log into another person's account.
Chances are that Syn will see this thread, but you might want to send an explanation to multi-accounts@swc anyway. Hopefully that will serve to mitigate some of the rules violations and allow you to avoid a ban.

I dare you to make less sense.
Are you a newbie, or do you have access to newbies?
You should already have read this page. The very first paragraph, and the entire Multi Accounts section, should answer all of your questions. The rules to prevent cheating are enforced very strictly, so if you aren't already familiar with them, you need to rectify that immediately.
I read the rules, but I didn't know how the combine would 'check' for multi accounts therefore not knowing if it was wrong. alas, that is why I asked here, is it not? I will notify immediately. Banning would be bad. :P
