I was just looking through my items, and noticed that those items equipped on me are showing a position for me even though I'm in hyper. Looking at the co-ords on the Nav Comp the location given by my items makes my route an indirect one - say 120 degrees between by point of origin and destination. Now this could just be the way hyper is worked, or something to do with the Nav Comp, but should items be able to list your location like this? And if so is it correct, or just a radom location chosen somewhere between departure and destination?
Would be nice if it did give you your current location!
It's been fixed before on other things (docked ships/vehicles used to show it), but a fix for items is unlikely prior to Inv 2.0, since it's a waste of time to fix it once and then just replace it.
As for the travel route, the ship will go straight (up or sideways) until it's on a 45 degree line with the destination, then move diagonally. Or vice versa. It's the same style as used in sublight, if you want to look at it next time you're in-system.
