I just want to know whether or not I'm erroring, or the site itself is.

So far, the apostrophes from the NPCs are replaced with ’ instead of the regular '.

Yeah sorry for the stupid problem...but I'm just wondering if I could do something about it.

Apostrophes do not cooperate with SWC coding. You'll want to use a different character instead, such as ` or ´, where possible.

It just depends if the programmer took them into account when parsing the output from the database.

I actually find it a big problem with not being able to use a ' in a handle as what I didn't realise when I used a ` is that the character isn't on my mobile so I cannot access SWC at certain times.
