Help! ok i started playing a very long time ago. I "played" for more than a week and like nothing started. I quitted the game. Now months later i want to start again. But i am inside some space-station, have no names to contact, no idea what to do. Help!?
To suggest with I would try to find out how to get off the ship you are on. You may be able to do this as you will be able to see the type and name of the entity you are onboard from your position page.
You could then make a post in the traders lounge seeking the owners of that station if the name does give it away.
Once you know who owns it and where it is, you could do one of several things:
1. Join the faction who owns the station
or 2. Ask a transport faction to come and pick you up and take you to a planet.
At that point you are again in a position to start any career you wish as either a freelance trader or faction employee (the latter more suited to a newer player). While you are on the station though it may be worth having a peek at the characters onboard the station and see if you can find a brawler who has been abandoned by its owner until your lift arrives.
If you are still in the faction, then you can go to their website and either contact the faction leader directly or post a message in their transport section to get them to pick you up.
All factions should have a section or procedures where a member can request pickup and a job to do.
I'm not sure if you can see it being on a space station (I can't think why you wouldn't) but you should see a button from your position screen entitled drop character.
Pressing that will allow you to turn your character into an NPC and recreate a new one in a weeks time. This button only shows up after 3 weeks of being stranded on an entity.
Hrm? No it doesn't. The "drop character" option only appears if you've been arrested for longer than three weeks, not if you're just stranded. You do indeed need to contact the faction to arrange for transport, or at least to receive your location so you can hire someone to transport you. It's pretty inexpensive.
As to starting over, you would need to be die (or be held under arrest for three weeks) in order to drop your character.
The automatic feature only appears for those who are arrested. People who have been trapped in an entity for three weeks can mail assistants@swc for assistance.
