click [travel] and then [city].

Select the coordinates for your destination and press [go].

Kiobi Rodo, make sure you click at an "empty" road tile (and not at a facility. This would just scan it.)

Both will help you understand the game. They did for me and I am new too.

Long answer: From the control panel on the right click "Position." Once the new screen loads click "Travel." Select which part you would like to travel, i.e. "City", "Cross Terrain", etc. Input the coordinates and speed, click ETA, and finally go.
