Maybe I have no business playing this game, but I've read through the rules and the guides I've found and looked at my inventory, and as it stands right now, I have no way to equip the coveralls or belt or vest I just bought. I just don't know if I'm overlooking something or if I'm being affected by a bug. As it stands I have no button or drop down menu that gives me the option to equip. Can anyone help me or at least point me to the right guide to get this figured out? Thanks in advance.
over on the right side of your screen, you should see an option labelled "Control". Underneath that, you should see "Position". Click Position. Then click the "Items" button when it comes up. From here, you should be able to see every item that is at your current location, and there will be options to equip it.
I was too busy looking in the inventory and didn't think to look elsewhere. Thank you. Now my question is that I bought a vest, coveralls, a backpack, a belt, and a knife. when I did as you just pointed out, I found the vest, belt, and knife available. so I go back to my inventory and I see that someone else is carrying my coveralls and another vest I must've inadvertently bought. my question now is that although they are a part of my inventory, unless I equpped them right when I bought them, they're still sitting on the floor, which would be why they're location didn't make sense (shows the shop I bought them at). But right now I'm in the midst of a 12 hr move from one city grid to another, and I don't think its going to do me much good to try and abort and go back after them. So I'm pretty much just looking at an slightly expensive lesson learned, huh? Would it be better for me to write all that stuff off and just pick up new when I get to my new destination?
2k (or 4k, I guess) is a very cheap lesson, by SWC standards. Write it off, keep going, and if you don't want those items clogging up your inentory make them over to the people carrying them.
I'd say don't worry too much about replacing those items with more of the same when you get where you're going. If you join a decent faction, they should be willing to equip you with basic items of a higher standard than those available in the basic NPC shops.
