Just wondering, ... is there a credit refund after aborting production? Say, just 5 min after starting with 0% completion? I got back the RMs, but no credits. I didn't read anything about it in the rules .. so am I just SOL?
After further investigation, this may be a game glitch ... yea, stick with me on this one, I'd really like an admin's opinion on this:
So i'm over at my cousin's house IRL helping him set up the production for an L-500 in my ship yard. However, ... I didn't want him to just go willy-nilly and start production, so I didn't set up a ship faction with manager rights, nor him with building rights. Just to be safe.
BUT, I did walk him all the way through it to the point where he hits 'start' on the production. I drive home, log in, give him privs and set the SY to be managed by the same ship faction he is in (I'm the director, and the workers were managed also by the same ship faction). Now, as I had supposed, he had hit 'start' before I set him up with privs, and he got an error message. He said he acknowledged it, and the screen stayed right there still ready to start production. So I told him not to do things when I tell him not to (normal with him), so while on the cell phone, I told him he had privs, and then he hit start. No refresh, no nothing, just hit start. True, I wasn't there, but I had walked him through RM selection, worker # input, it had already been tooled for an L-500 (I did that), and then, after those screens were through, I set him and the station up to go. He doesn't lie, ... just doesn't listen. ;)
The ship then was going to take 245 days to build. Something was amiss. I told him to abort. Yea, we lost 10% of RMs, but I knew that. What erks me, and why I am even going through with this is that I also personally lost 7 mil (well, 6,959,183) and would like to get that back if in fact this was a 'behind the screens production re-set' when I set up the manager and his privs while he was ready to hit 'start.' So, he didn't know, I didn't know things weren't set up the way we had originally set them up.
So, that is the story, i'm 2 days away from the SY to read the logs. But I would like an admin to weigh in on this if you could.

There is no credit refund; the only things returned to you are what you are told in the rules you receive back.
I have not heard of any production bugs like that currently; I suspect that if the time seemed excessive, it is due to a less than ideal number of NPCs being used or poor planet stats.

planet stats rock ... I choose 180 NPCs, as usual for this craft. I thought too about the wrong # of NPCs, but I watched him type them in and then progress to the next screen. I will hopefully know more when I get there and read the logs.
NPC number might be your problem then - shouldn't an L-500 have half that number or something to get the optimum results? IN which case, that would explain the increased time.
You will see the correct NPC's amounts for your factions datacards (and others) in that thread of your factions forum. You will see a large discrepency between the amount of NPC's you've used and what that thread tells you is ideal. This would be the problem, most problems like this are always down to player error and not a bug.
This is why you should ask me before posting in here :p

yea .. just realized a few hours ago ... all my fault probably. I don't know why 180 was concreted into my brain .. but yea, .. 100 is the magic number. Go figure .... my screw up, my loss, ... damn it. Ah well, nothing like making an ass of myself in public .... on line. ;)
