I'm asking for explanation of the following calculations:
“2.1/ Civilization Level (CL)
« Back To Top
The Civilization Level is always positive and smaller than one. It is a way to characterize the level of development of a planet.
Equations
CL = (Sum of each(NF * FA)) / PSA Sum of each = Application of equation (NF*FA) for every type of facility on the planet.
NF = Number of Facility type
FA = Area of Facility Type
PSA = Planet Surface Area = (Planet Area * (222))
For Example CL = (Sum of Each(NF*FA)) / PSA
Where:
PSA = 4 * 222 = 888
Sum of:
Power Gens = (12 * 3) = 36
Starports = (4 * 32) = 128
Sum of Each(NF*FA) = 164
So:
CL = 164 / 1936 = 0.0847 ”
Especially the Example. If PSA is stated as 4*222 = 888, then why it is CL = 164 / 1936 = 0.0847
I know that there used to be a PSA math error that I had to correct to give the 888 value. I'm not sure if that value previously said 1936, but if so, that would explain the discrepancy. I'd rather not edit it before checking with a dev to ensure the right value is added, but as I'm about to go out of town for about a week, you might want to mention this in Rules Updates for attention.
Actually, I think this came up before in the rules section of the forum, and someone said exactly that. Probably the rules just need updating since I think somoene looked at the code before and said that that was how the code worked it out.
The same issue happens for other equations there as well.
f.e. base income equations.
“Income = (2000 - (PA * 2.5)) * CL * M * (1 - CR) 3 * P0.66 *(Sum of Each7 (NF)) / [(Sum of Each7 (NF)) + (Sum of Each8 (NF))] ”
it's BP, BM and BCR in the first place. Then BP^0,66 ,that works. No idea if it's (1-BCR)^3 (after applying modifier income comes out a lot smaller than actual calculations made by server) or *3 (base income comes out more or less the same... as server modified income O_o)
Please fix those annoying typos in planetary economy rules.
