if i assign some one to carry my items can they just drop them on the ground when they get them were i need them then only i can get them after i un assign them?

Anyone can pick up items, regardless of who is assigned as carrier. The last person to pick up an item will be listed as carrier (I'm not sure if you can manually change it or whether its still locked).
