Let's say that someone owns more than one mining faction and wants only one. Is it possible to merge lesser factions into a master faction cleanly, or would you have to have individual switches between members of your factions?

Merging is to be implemented with the new faction requirements. However the requirements seem to have been delayed, so not sure about the merging bit. You will need to have 95% of the stocks of the faction to be merged, not sure about the faction being merged in to.
