I'm trying to understand weapons from their stats, even though they haven't been implemented.

1. If I understand right, deflector shields will deflect hits by lasers. But will they also deflect hits from non-laser weapons?

2. Is ionic capacitance just a measure of damage?

3. When somebody is executed, is a weapon used? (The page on death only says that an ear can be taken from the corpse with a slashing weapon.)

4. Do health points help prevent execution?

1. Unknown. Probably?

2. No. Well, kinda. Ionic capacitance is how much ionic damage a vessel can take before its systems shut down. It will not be destroyed from ionic damage, but it will be disabled. Only ion weapons do damage to ionic capcity.

3. No. (Arrest/Execute rules are currently in effect.)

4. No.
