Do I send the credits with the object I want to buy in the description, or do I send a DM first, then the credits?

The process depends on the faction. However, I would highly recommend not just sending credits to anyone without contacting them to verify it first.

There is no way to send a PM to an actual faction. You can either send it to the leader, or you might want to check the faction site to see if they have some kind of ordering procedure listed.

Is it a bug if it won't let me send credits to the faction? I got the way to place an order, but it isn't letting me send them. It says that the character isn't found.

When sending the credits, make sure it's not on character and that you spell it right.
