I just had my friend join SWC and was trying to help with the game via MSN. He submitted a handle, which was approved, but once he figured out that he wanted to be a wookiee he wanted to change his name to something more, wookiee-ish, but couldn't find a way to do this.

Is it possible to change your original handle like it is when you die?

The only way for him to change his handle would be to die and then spawn with the name he desires. Unless his handle violates the rules, then it can be changed. The rules on handle restrictions can be found here: Handle Rules

Right. I know that after he dies and waits the 3 weeks he can then submit any number of handles until he actually makes his character. I wanted to see if you can do that with your original name.

You should be able to, so that if you desired you can change your name so that it is more befitting the race you choose.

Can a mod move this to the suggestions forum?

If he hasn't created his character yet I would imagine that the admin will allow him to change it, try emailing them assistants@swcombine.com with the request or catching one on IRC.

Threads can't be moved between different boards, so you would need to open a new thread in the Suggestions forum to bring it up.

I honestly wish you could change your names to more alien like names, like i had no idea what a Chiss was when I joined.
