Because droids cannot be represented accurately by the existing systems for skills and damage.
Because only a handful of droids in canon are questionably sentient.
Because most droids are a specific type not some imaginary customised droid and only exist to perform certain functions. Playing a C3PO unit is not particularly interesting and having everyone running around as Robocop and the Terminator is rather silly.
No i didn't, we players represent only a handful of the 'heroes' of the galaxy, who have consisted of arguably sentient droids..
The suggestion was locked because it was simply in the wrong place, however they are restricted form discussion for ralgaarch's reasons, however they are viable, they just need fixed stats, which skills increase overtime like the rest of us, and during selection are limited to templates (like the ones provided)
If restricted to biped droids then why not, they would behave exactly like normal sentients.
My question is why can't this be made possible, is it an outright no droids or is it a rule carried forward from a time when the combine couldn't.. but now can emulate this.
There's never been a technical restriction on allowing droids. Except insofar as they'd require a completely different system from every other race, and it's pointless to make such a system for a single race.

If restricted to bipedal droids then the current system would be absolutely fine when applied to droids, the only theoretical change would be to display their Ionic capacitance and call their HP hull instead. All additions to any skills can be seen as the droid sitting down and adding new bits an pieces to itself or improving different aspects of itself like sentients do.
Sounds more like you're trying to uphold a suggestion now, you've seemed to have received your answer to the question but continue to push your own beliefs. The combine is restricted to organic "races". Not to mention you opened basically two (2) threads based on the same topic.
“Since it was stated by the mods there that droid being a playable race is a restricted topic for new races, these sorts of questions are not that relevant. If and when having non-organic races are allowed, expect there to be answers to all these questions. But only then.
No i'm questioning the reasoning behind them not being allowed, that they need significant coding is either bad combine code or wrong, bipedal droids would be the same as any other sentient, no differences would be noticeable since there is no food in this simulation.
So droids would use all the same equipment other races do? They would be subject to atmosphere rules like other races? They would be able to be healed by medics or healing items, or harmed by drugs? They would regenerate HP like living creatures? They would be arrested using stun cuffs?

1) PC's have been restricted to organic entities. Heck we can't play as Imzigs, Ewoks, Lanniks or Tusken Raiders and they are organic... oh well.
2) Droids are still non-organic
3) There would be MANY issues, leveling up - droids would need "upgrades" not xp to some regard. Regeneration turns to "repair", new types of damages that would effect Droid PC's, etc etc....
Basically you're questioning why it's restricted, in the process offering suggestions to get what YOU want. Just because you don't like your answer you justify it with suggestions within the question.

I'm sure it can be, but it's been UNACCEPTABLE, so there is no point in implementing it. Since you're having some difficulty...
Chris, you have been told that its a no. THe amount of coding and testing required to make them different enough to be worth it would take up coding time that would be used for more useful projects. Continue to ask this question in any forum, and you will be banned from that forum.
