I bought some tracking devices a while back to put in my ships, i was told they will inform you when the ship they are on enters hyper with the co-ords they are flying towards. I tested this, and didn't get an event/message.
Do they need to be activated somehow?
Once activated the messages regarding the hyper event, will they come via DM, or as an event?
Or was I lied to and they, like most items, are still useless?

May be best to look at the rules page and see that it has the lovely red 'Not Implemented' icon on it that would of saved you time.
