4) Why are they listed under ships? (Aren’t they more like miniature man-less space stations?)
I guess they can use a docking bay for transport to position not built on site.
5) How do you access their real time sensor data? (Like other ships in same system just there for you? Any other way?)

In number four, i think he meant that same thing you said. that they are currently listed as ships and he wonders why not as space stations since they have more in common.
I haven't looked for awhile, however they used to have their own section on the rules page. Though they wouldn't be stations. They'd be constructed in a way entirely seperate.
If all this info is known, are they planned for release with production?
Humm if someone tractored a satalite of mine out of a deployed scensor network in a system and it is moved or goes blind in a ship bay. I hope the Network that sees it or the tractored satalite itself would notify me.
Same with someone hacking one to disable the scensors upon a failed attempt.
Just some thoughts.
