i have tool kit and crafting kit and have used many times to do doors but now, I cannot even equip them
the only place they highlight is the backpack areas, never the hands

i have in this pikture, the crafting kit and as you can see, it will only allow me to put in both shoulda positions.

The left slot is the utility slot, that's where it should equip.

THe back slot has always been on the right. With the preparation for combat, and the setup of slots for using weapons and utility items, a new slot was created, and things like the toolkit and crafting kit had their usable slots switched from the hands (which are now primary/secondary) to the utility slot.
