Archives » y-wing production: how can it be possible...
Page 1 2
hey there, I just started production of a y-wing squad ( 12 y-wings ) in my shipyard 1 using 15 workers. but, it just seems impossible, the ETA is 3Y 196D 7H... 3 ******* years !!! how can it be possible just to build a squad of y-wing...

is it possible thats it a bug or a issue in the calculation ?

thanks for help.

I've just aborted the production and now I think it's showing the right ETA... problem is that I can't restart production.

humm... any tip what can i do now ? I misleadingly abort the production 'cause the ETA was wrong and then I wanna restart the production but I can't - I need to abort first but if I abort I,ll lose some mats.... what a shame.. :(

The ETA is more than likely right, the problem is the number of npcs you used. Ask around and find people who are experienced with production if they'll clue you in on the correct amount. I had a number I always used but it's been about 2 years since I was a producer so not sure if things have changed.

Also, I don't think there is anything you can do about the abort, pretty sure you can't cancel it. You'll just have to take the hit in RMs and time and try again.

As Meph said, your number of NPCs is way off, which gives the huge construction time. As for aborting, nothing you can do about it, you'll just have to wait, get the extra mats for those that are missing, and restart with the correct number of NPCs.

k then... :-(

sad though I didnt thought there is a number limit for workers.

thanks

There is an optimum number of workers. Having less or more than that will increase the time needed. EIther there aren't enough people to do the work, or they are all getting in each others ways.

Is there a list showing the optimal numbers? Or is it just trial and error?

Teyacapan Quetzalxochitl

There are guidelines on the rules page, but the exact number is trial and error. (or asking people that have already trialed and errored..)

Yeah, ah love that about this game

(length of ship in meters/5 = number of workers) is the formula I was given by a very longtime ship producer and it has worked well so far.

So in this case, Raak would need 48 workers? Guessing the number is rounded up?

Search Functions are great, if you know what you are looking for and how to word it so you don't get 20 pages of unrelated porn

Speaking of the Y-Wings, really liking the copckpit

That's not actually a hard formula, and an y-wing isn't 240 meters in length..

Tabty Haasza

And that formula works great for big ships that you build in a shipyard. Fighters and small freighters that can be built in a factory are a different story.

Yeah, but he wants to build 12 of them, and 15 didn't work (unless thats the case of 'too many chefs in the kitchen')

Teyacapan Quetzalxochitl

The amount you build doesn't matter, they're constructed sequentially, not in parallel.

Whether you build one or 20 at a time, the optimum number is based on the length of one of those ships. Once you get down to fighters though, its roughly ends up as 5 or 6 workers.

ETA should be 45-50 Days, depending on local stats, and your skills.

Sadly, aborting lost you the datacards....

hmm so its only 6, that totally answer my question :)

With regards the issue of too many workers added, would pausing, then firing 9 of those workers, and then restarting not help the 3 year issue?

As in now there are only 6 working on it, so they the ETA would come down to the 40 days or so?

Alexander von Ismay

It's possible. Never tried.

I tested it over on Dev. While I didn't pause and fire, I only arrested [which caused to pause] the all over 6. Then started. I got the same result as I would with 6.

Not sure how legal it is with the features as they are. I think worker manipulation should be allowed thou...
