Archives » A question regarding ship carrying capacity
Nah Olos

I've got four freighters that need to be picked up;

2 YT-1300 (w=400 t/v=3,780 m³)
1 YT-2000 (w=500t/v=4,060 m³)
1 JMS5000 (w=50t/v=900m³)

According to the YV-666's carrying capacity (w=1,400t/v=62,000 m³), I should be able to pick up all of these ships in one trip, with room for about 50t.

However, each of these ships that I'm picking up is completely loaded down with gear inside of them. Will the total weight of that gear, add to to the total weight of the ship as well?

meaning, is there a good chance that I will not be able to pick up everything?

The game doesn't allow for weight within containers to count towards total weight unfortunately. So if I fill my Escape Pod full of blasters, it'll weigh the same as an empty one.

Sounds good. Thanks Jesfa.

Jesfa are the container contents intended to count towards the weight in the future because I always figured weight reduction to be the point of containers.

It has on and off for nearly a decade or so been discussed on how to make it work, and has never once worked out. Whether something is found one day, or a plan for how to work in the cargo containers appears; I wouldn't bet money on it.

It's a shame, but there's worse things out there.
