Was giving some NPCs some skill upgrades and when one of them upgraded their Projectile Weapon skill the health bumped up. However when I upgraded its Dexterity nothing happened. This is in reverse to what happened to most other NPC's.

Not sure if this is a bug or a way to have a slightly randomized HP score?

Another NPC got a double boost from a skill bump?

I noticed that some NPCs had old HP numbers that "updated" when skill points were applied and/or level up occurred which led to massive increases in some. Could be this...

NPCs with health totals below what they're supposed to have recalculate when they level or have any skill point applied, yeah. That's just because the HP calculation was changed and it would be a hassle to have the server reset all the health totals in one go.

While the topic is still fresh, I thought I would ask something related.

I set a squad to patrol to gain xp, and one of the NPCs leveled in the process.

21 Year 13 Day 274, 14:29 The NPC X`jan Lefex has reached level 3.

With no additional HP increase, I checked it out in the inventory. He has 3 HP less than Level 2 troopers, and 12 HP less than the other Level 3's. They are all the same race, class, and skill allocation, so there shouldn't be any variation.

So my questions-

Was there another change to Yam`rii that effects HP gain? (Which would decrease his HP, if the modifier was lowered.)

Is there a bug involving squadded NPCs gaining HP? (unlikely because his HP would have remained the same, instead of being lowered by 3 points.)

No, but I did have a Level 1 that reached Level 2 before that-

Year 13 Day 249, 15:20 The NPC Elayne Res has reached level 2, and subsequently her HP has increased to 136. (+9 HP) 


That Level 2 currently has 3 more HP than the Level 3 that just leveled. After some thought, I may have come up with a reason.

All the troops in question are Melee Combat Troopers. After the original skill reset, I had boosted their Strength to 4 (not realizing Dex was needed to hit). MTC's got an additional skill reset when the class had Dex added to the base template, so I added the points into Dex and Dodge instead of Strength.

Which is going to lower their HPs when they level.

At least I think so.
