Year 14 Day 314 15:54
Hello,

I tried to find it in the bugbase or in the question centre, but couldn`t.

It has been noted that there seems to be 4 squares more on sensor coverage that it should, at least in a ship with 8 sensors.

If I understand correctly, the sensors rules changed, but only updated half of the page at the vision rules, the pics seem to still be from the old rules.

You see, the old rules:

Power on a square = rounddown(Number of Sensors / (Distance + 1))

Characters, NPCs, Droids: Perception Skill + 1
Ships, Vehicles, Facilities, Space Stations: 2 * rounddown(Ln(Number of Sensors)) + 1

And the new rules:

Characters, NPCs, Droids: Perception Skill + 1
Ships, Vehicles, Facilities, Space Stations: (Number of Sensors) + 1

So, what I did was to use Clarr's post about distance, with the new vision rules, and a little free thinking, I got to:

Equations
Power on a square = rounddown(Number of Sensors / Distance)

The distance being an Euclidian Distance.

Distance
distance = rounddown{sqrt[(x1-x2)^2+(y1-y2)^2]}

So, the sensor should be symmetrical. Nevertheless, I have more coverage at north and west, one square at each side more, that was not supposed to be there.

I heard of similar people in the same ship (YT-510), which happens to be exactly the same way.

Is that a problem, should I bugbase it, or the rules are different?

Thank you, and regards,
Vonar
