2.3/ Moving from Orbit to Atmosphere
Traveling in a ship from Space Layer to Atmosphere Layer.

Only ships with repulsors can achieve it.
The action takes 1 hour to complete and earns you 5 XP.
Ships will not have access to any scanner info during action, but will be seen on the space scanner map until completion of travel.
The pilot can decide on which square he wants to land.

- Movement Rules

So no, your C-3 cannot even reach Atmosphere level as it lacks repulsors.

However, to answer the other part of your question, if you manage to land in a ship, you will not be trapped. If there is a shield present it only prevents descent - ascent is allowed through.

The only time this could potentially occur (too lazy to check), is if you land a lucrehulk and kick a C-3 out.

Under those circumstances what would happen?

If you can't ascend normally, ASims would teleport your ship back up to orbit, and then someone would file a bug report, and years later someone might get around to coding the inability to kick a ship out onto the surface if it can't land.

Simple fix though!
