I just got one of my piloted ships swallowed by a sun's gravity pull...
I'm really interested to know. Also, does it touch always npc ships or can it touch me? What is taken into consideration as to whether you're caught or not?
Sorry if I missed some info somewhere, but I can't find anything.
This is not at all the bug I reported. I was flying (again I can email system names, details, ships names if required etc) three Lambda shuttles from a VSD to a planet, and the navcomp set a course, which if I remember correctly passed near a sun. Suddenly when I checked, I was at the planet, but the second shuttle had disappeared. I had no single event whatsoever. I contacted the one that had the priviledge with faction owned ships and he saw this:
23 Year 7 Day 129, 3:09 The Lambda Shuttle XXX has been destroyed by the gravitational pull of XXX, melting anything inside.
I flew 4 twings back and forth in a system, passed a sun at least 50 times, and not one of my twings had been melted...That was like 2-3 weeks ago. How new is this?
I just recently (1-2 days ago) Plotted a course that took me right next to a sun with no problems. Maybe its just NPC ships? Or maybe it was one of those mysterious one of a kind problems that you just happened to be the unlucky person to receive.
