Squad combat is currently in Beta, so it only works on Serocco and Derra.
Gist (as I recall) is that you set the squads to Patrol, and they attack anything on your IFF Foe list that comes in their range. I've not done any testing with it to comment on the AI of it all - e.g. whether they attack as soon as they See something in their vision, or only if it's in the range of Most / All of their weapons, etc.
Depends if you're on a ComBeta world, and how active you are.
If you're active, regardless, you can take a calculated risk at having expensive weapons - the idea is to hide inside your ship/vehicle when you're offline.
If you're not on a ComBeta world, the only thing you need to worry about is staying at max range for the A280 and watching the HP & damage range your targets can do. If an NPC gets close to death, kick them out of your party and keep attacking, for example.
Same way you do in combat: 40 xp per round if you hit with all shots, less if not. For example, if your gun shoots 4 times but you only hit once, you get 10 xp. Another way to lvl them up is to set them to patrol. Takes about 11-12 months to get them to lvl 10 (max for NPCs).
Thanks for all the answers, for now I am good..............................
Btw just curious - what lays in Admin sector? Has anyone made a journey there and returned? I mean I understand Do Not Enter, but that just rises curiosity even more. Is that were this Veynom from comics lives ???
''If gods do exist, we need to start looking for ways to kill them''
I don't know... the rules are often outdated, confusing, incomplete and hard to find. Please feel free to ask away Ethan, it is often much faster and more accurate. In fact, why don't we challenge Victor right now to find and post the exact rules pages that give the correct answer to all on Ethan's questions here.
You are right Lexor, however A LOT can be learned by reading the rules and guide that many people have spent a lot of time on. But I accept your challenge, lets see what I can find regarding his questions.....
