Guest/Visitor	I am a previous Combiner, out of the game for a long time. ...Anywho, I tried to register as "Alexander Hamilton" but received an email stating: Your handle does not match out current rules requirements. It was turned down because of the presence of a restricted name or adjective, such as 'Lord', 'Count' or 'Darth', or an existing Star Wars character name was chosen such as 'Luke Skywalker' or 'Han Solo'. Can anyone shed some light on this? Is there already an Alexander Hamilton in the Combine? Does someone else have the last name of "Hamilton"? *Is there some sort of restriction that I don't know about that would otherwise prevent me from using this handle? If the name is similar, I can understand, and choose something else. If there is another last name of "Hamilton," I would like to see permission from that person in order to have the same last name. Any assistance you can provide would be helpful. The email is too general, and I don't know the best way to proceed. Thanks for your help, (the potential) Alexander Hamilton

Guest/Visitor	Syn - Thanks for the reply. I wouldn't have even tried it if it mentioned that in the creation pages...about notable historical figures. A question, though...Is Khan not a historical figure? I mean, what reasonably well-informed person doesn't know about Ghengis Khan, Kublai Khan...even the pop singer Chaka Khan. And if you look up "Khan" in Wikipedia, you find out that "Khan" is a "...title with many meanings, originally commander, leader or ruler." So we have a prominent member of the Combbine that seemingly violates more than one of the handle rules: A historical figure as well as a title/rank. I'm not trying to pick on or single out Khan. If those are the rules, then should they not apply to all of us? A.H.

Syn	'Khan' also violates the handle rules in that his handle contains only a single name. However, he joined prior to these rules being implemented, and as such he is not required to change his handle, since the rules are not enforced retroactively. The Character Creation rules specify that forbidden handles include notable characters in other universes - this is commonly applied to our own universe as well, as we once had a player who re-created with the handle George Bush. Unfortunately, we have a limited number of rejection messages, so declined handles do not always receive the correct reason for being declined. ____________
