Recently I made an attempt to join the combine and it didn?t make it through because of a possible multi account issue. I?m not sure exactly why it would cause a problem but I recently moved in to college and before I left my buddy showed me the site and he logged in using my computer to show me how stuff worked and the like, he didn?t mean any harm by it but I think that may have triggered something in the system when I went and tried to make a character. I just want to make clear that we don?t actually share accounts or rooms or anything and that he won?t be using my computer anymore. Let me know if this still presents a problem for you as I went over the multi-account rules and I do not believe that we would fall into that category as this was just a way for me to see the game from a friend before I went and dove in.
Ok I'll try to get in touch with him and see what I can do, he told me before that he wasn't active that much so would it just be easier to register as a multi account and have him freelance. He recommended that to me but I just want to make sure thats ok.
Ok I let Multi Accounts know about this yesterday morning and I still haven't heard any kind of response back from them so I'm not sure if I made the right procedures but i gave them our handles and explained the situation. Are they away currently or is there some else I should talk with?
You shouldn't need to send any e-mails. If you need to register as multis, just have the player signing up include the existing player's handle on the join form where it asks for the names of any multis you need to register.
Sorry, I hate to be a pest but I re-registered and put down his handle as a multi but it still got regected...ive sent 3 emails to multi accounts about it so i was just wondering if there was some kind of problem that they weren't getting my emails. Thanks.
As Ranma advised, just have your buddy log on again from his own place so you don't show up on the same IP, and make sure you don't log on from each other's computers. That way you don't need to deal with multi-accounts in the first place. You've said he won't be using your computer any longer, so I don't see why this would be an issue.
