1. Click the Join link next to Lost Password
2. Clicking that Join button brings you to the Terms of Service page. It is highly recommended that you read through the Terms of Service, or at least skim through it to get a general idea of what is and what isn't allowed. It is also recommended that you read through the rules pages before joining.
You are only allowed to have ONE character per person in the Star Wars Combine. Connections are checked, and if it is found that you have an illegal multi, you will be banned from the game.
If there is another person sharing your computer that desires to play the Star Wars Combine, please contact the multi-account administration at multi-accounts@swcombine.com .
All accounts are reviewed BEFORE you are registered. It may take a few hours, or a few days, depending on how busy the administration is.

3. Select the "I accept." option and hit Proceed
4. The next screen is where you enter your handle, personal information if you so desire, contact information, and other information.
It is highly recommended that you pick a reasonable handle, as stupid names tend to be rejected on the basis of being stupid.
5. After you get an email saying that you are accepted, log in with the handle you chose and the password given in the email.
6. In the top right corner you will see a button that says Click to create character click that.
7. You have the option to create your character from a template or manual creation.
Webmaster's suggestion: I recommend the template ONLY for getting ideas, not for actually using it.
If you chose manual creation it's now time to select skill priorities.
Writer's suggestion: For a well rounded character, I suggest either General or Social Skills to be the first priority followed by the other. IE: General-Social etc, or vice versa.
8. It's now time to choose skills. There are two ways of doing this. A preset template character, or a custom character you create yourself. I highly recommend creating a custom character, as you get to choose your race and your attributes.
Tip: When creating your character, don't give your character all 1's and 2's in the skills. A Jack-of-all-trades/Master of none is not necessarily a good thing, unless you really want to be. It's entirely up to you.
Tip: Flying in this galaxy is what almost every single character does, so it is recommended that you give yourself some flying skills. The usual starting ship that factions might provide is not generally a capital ship (though you might get lucky) but a fighter or a freighter.
When you have used up all available points in a section, the total number will turn green.
When you are done choosing your skills, scroll down and press Go to next step
9. Next screen you can enter a description and biography for your character. These are optional at this time, and can be entered in at any time later under Manage -> character -> Edit Character if you haven't thought out your character's description or biography yet.
10. At any time, if you feel you have made an error, or want to change something, just press Restart Creation and start all over again.
11. At the final screen, you are shown a summary of your character's attributes. You can press « Start Over if you want to change something or press Confirm Creation » if you like what you have chosen. Press confirm to proceed.
12. Over on the left hand side, under Location it will say "Select a Starting Location". You will be brought to the position screen. As a freelancer new to the galaxy, you will only have one choice of location, your homeworld.
If you choose a faction first however, you will have the option to start on your faction's HQ once they accept you. Starting on the faction's HQ is generally much more desirable for your new boss then for them to send someone to pick you up.
13. To choose a faction, go to Manage -> Faction -> Join Faction. It might take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days for the faction to accept you. It might be faster if you contact people via the message boards, IRC, or email.
Once you have been accepted, click on Select a Starting Location and start on the Faction's headquarters.
14. Chances are you have started in a conference center building on some planet. This step show you the way out of the conference center so you don't have to search all 20 rooms (unless you want to). It also shows you what each icon means in some of the rooms you come across.
