- Choose a faction from the drop down menu
- Enter a message to the faction leader in the space provided. (optional)
- Hit the [Submit!] button.
- Wait for the faction to accept you. In the mean time you can contact them by email, message boards, etc...

- Hit the [Leave Faction] button
- Confirm with the [Yes, I want to leave] button.
You have now left the faction and are now freelance.

Before you decide to do this, understand that there are many requirements in order to create a new faction. You must have enough assets, personnel, website, etc...
- Hit the [Create Faction] button
- Select the type of faction it will be from the drop down menu. It will say what the requirements are and what datacards are available for that type of faction.
Needed capital: = Total amount of credits/assets you need to start.
Registration fee: = Amount needed to register the faction.(I believe this amount is non refundable and you don't get it back)

This screen shows the IFF of your faction. In other words, who is set to be friend or enemy, faction and character.
All the rest are treated as Neutral.

- Enter the handle of the person you wish to edit in the field below where a pic should be. (If a pic doesn't show up, an outline box will at least)
- Click [View!]. That person's current info fields will show up.
- Edit info fields.
- click [Set Infofields!] when you're done.

- Click the [Expel Member] button
- Enter the handle of the person you wish to expel
- Optional: Enter a reason.
- Hit the [Expel] button. That person has now been kicked out of your faction.

- Click the [Pay Salaries] button
- Choose method of sorting the member list and rate of activity.
- Click the [Show salary list] button
- Adjust the rates of salary that each member gets.
- When satisfied, click [Pay salaries].
You will get a notice of the total amount paid out to X number of members in the faction events.

When not the leader (unless this was changed) selecting this option shows you a summary of every member who has privileges and what they are.
For a detailed list per privilege of who has what, select and click one of the items in the drop down menu.

- Click the [Set Privileges] button
- Enter the handle of the person you wish to give privileges to.
- Using the drop down menus, give desired privileges to that person.
Note: Only Level 2 of "Give Privileges" can set privileges higher than their own level. Level 2 makes this person the 2IC (Second in Command). Only one person can be the 2IC at a time.

- Click [Change Faction Information]. It will show your current description, logo, and banners. Make necessary changes.
- When finished, click [Submit changes]. It will show you a preview of what your changes would make.
- Click [Confirm changes]

This features lists stats for your faction along with what steps you are towards becoming a government faction. If you are a government faction, this is a good indicator if you still have the correct values to retain governmentship. If your faction has stocks, this section lists all the stock owners.

- Click [Send Mass Message]
- Fill in a subject line and the body of your message. You can choose to send via email or darkness message. This feature will send a message or an email to every person in your faction.

- Click [View Memberlist]
- Select a sorting method
- Select "table" or "ICIS style"
table method allows you to individually message members ICIS method is more easily copyable into notepad. ICIS was the previous client before Darkness was implemented.

This feature allows you to change the leader of the faction. The new leader must be a member of the faction. Take care that you replace yourself with a dependable leader or it could cost you dearly.

- Click [Arrest/Execute]
- This section allows you to put out a warrant for a member of your own faction. A person in your own faction with the right privileges may arrest and/or execute that member. The leader may not be arrested or executed by another member of their faction. The leader can be arrested or executed by someone outside their faction however.

Unlike the Arrest/Execute feature for your own members, this feature only works if governments give you permission to operate in their territory.

Allows you to set the date your faction was founded. It cannot be reversed. (I think)

This feature allows you to set who is friend, foe, or neutral towards your faction.

This feature displays factions (including stocks that you own.)
Functions of a faction you own majority stock (or in case of a faction with no stock, the just the faction itself)

- Click [Un/protect Assets]
- manage > faction > view factions you own > scroll to your group > choose un/protect from the drop down > click do it! > screen refreshes and shows all groups assets listed by inventory type > click checkboxes and hit on to protect, likewise to unprotect.
