| A prime example of technological advancements of the last millennia, the Holonet Communication Centre has been in use since its conception. Originally it was built only in the most advanced systems of the galaxy's outer rim to receive messages and function as a hyperspace beacon so that communication could take place without any delays. Otherwise, communications could take months, if not years, to reach their destination unless they were broadcast between two beacons. The modern HCC features the most advanced hyperspace beacons, yet is broadly available to even the most backwater planet. This state of the art equipment enables many civilizations to let themselves be heard.
Once built on any planet of a hidden system, the Holonet Communication Centre starts emitting and the system will appear on all Galactic maps. An automatic GNS post will be made informing the galaxy of its construction and revealing the location of the city in which it was built. These effects do not occur in systems already known to the galaxy. |
