Beskar Armour (Armour)
Table of Contents [hide]

While the Mandalorian armour has seen many different designs over millennia, it has always been characterized as one of the finest armours available. As a warrior culture, the Mandalorians took great pride in their armour, often decorating it with colours that were important to the individual. These designs were not fashion statements: they often had ceremonial significance and the Mandalorian would often change the colour scheme to indicate an accomplishment, rank, or for even more practical causes, such as camouflage.

Traditional Mandalorian armour was made out of beskar, a nearly indestructible metal alloy used by the Mandalorians. Beskar was very rare and expensive, causing some to choose durasteel or duraplast in the construction of their armour. Though weaker than using "Mandalorian Iron," these versions still afforded excellent protection for the wearer.

Unlike other suits, Mandalorian armour integrates many features meant to protect and aid a warrior in battle. The armour is very versatile, allowing the owner to customize it with a wide range of available features. Common choices include a jet pack, to aid manoeuvrability, wrist-rockets, grappling wires, and even a flamethrower if the user so desired.

While the current design has chosen to sacrifice the total protection of a full body suit for an increase in speed and flexibility, it remains among the strongest armours and is the first choice for many notable warriors, bounty hunters and mercenaries.
