From the earliest days of civilization on most every planet, there have been works of art dedicated to individuals, groups, or achievements. From Massassi sculptures to Genosian Spire monuments, these pieces of art range in size, shape, and composition. Some are merely small of trinkets while others span huge tracts of land. One of the most common form of monuments, however, is the statue.

Each race has their own versions and style, ranging from the simple wooden Ancestor Totems of the Wookiees to the grand bronzium sculptures which adorn many Hutt palaces. Statues can be found almost anywhere. They can decorate the local park or sit triumphant atop a mountain. Some notable examples of statues in the known galaxy include: the statue of Xim, the Woostroid statue, and the Core Founder statues.

While statues take many forms, and each race has their own method and reasons for constructing them, one thing is certain, and that is wherever there is civilization, there are statues.
