Uukaablis, a jungle planet in the Kathol sector, is said to derive its name from an ancient and extinct race known as the Uukaablians. It is now inhabited by a variety of races comprising the occupying forces of the planet's current governors. The planet has a humid, temperate-to-tropical climate, yet on many days, with little warning, temperatures across the planet can spike to unbearably hot levels. Over time, this phenomenon has reduced the frozen polar regions on the planet to a very small size.

Unlike most planets, which have continents and oceans, Uukaablis consists of one gigantic continent that is dotted with vast inland seas. Much of its surface is covered with the thick foliage of tropical rainforest. Here and there it is penetrated by the peaks of mountains bursting through the greenery and seeming to pierce the very clouds above. Uukaablis is a botanist's dream-planet, populated by many thousands of unique species of plants including carnivorous trees, sweet-smelling (though poisonous) flowers and delicious fungi, to name but a few. As one might expect on a jungle world, there are also many bizarre and alien animal species dwelling beneath the canopy, hiding in their untouched environment.

A dark religious order has become active on Uukaablis, like on many planets in the Kathol sector. Small sections of jungle are being logged to make way for the construction of military bases and landing strips, and ships come and go more often than ever before. While most of the wilderness remains untamed, the evidence of industrialisation and progress is beginning to show itself on the planet's surface; the untapped resources of this tropical world will not remain so for much longer.

Deep beneath the warm waters of the inland seas live exotic and colourful piscine species: venomous eels and rays as well as giant squids and crustaceans. Rumour has it that the priests of the dark order have begun the excavation of an ancient temple beneath the surface of one of the salt-lakes of Uukaablis. Who knows what dark secrets await those who have the audacity to enter?
