Danoor is a solitary planet in the system of Nah`Malis. It is divided by a wide river encircling the entire planet, bordered by swamps and areas with dangerous quicksand. These are popular sites for archeologists, for many fossils are found in the vicinity of the quicksand and the marshes. A complete skeleton of an amphibian form of Bantha has been recovered recently. It is displayed in the Museum on Coruscant, together with other findings.

The craters up north are evidence of a massive meteor bombardment sometime in the distant past. The southern hemisphere is covered by an ever-growing polar cap. Tests have shown that this planet will one day be completely covered with ice. Some animals have adapted to this change of climate very well and manage to stay alive even on the outstretched southern glaciers. The northern hemisphere was once a boundless rainforest. After the ecological disaster caused by the meteors, most of the larger native animals became extinct, leaving the jungle empty. Only insects and imported breeds inhabit this strangely silent and unmoving jungle.
