Baraboo I is a hot and desolate planet closest to the sun in the Baraboo system. Many are confused at the jungle terrain on a planet where there seems to be no visible water. However, the trees are fed by a huge aqueduct network below the surface. In the desert, water can be found by digging only a few feet below ground. But in the jungle regions, the thick, interlocking roots make it impossible to excavate and it is more common for travelers to die of thirst in the jungle than in the desert areas.

While dehydration is not an enemy across the desert terrains, being without shelter after daybreak is. Desert temperatures drop to just below freezing at night, but during the day they are sufficient to boil water in minutes.
