A pleasant and unnoticed world, Kampar has risen to fame and fallen into despair. With the planetary population distributed throughout one continent about half the size of the planet, Kampar is sparsely populated and relatively quiet. Besides the tranquil coastlines and the friendly population, Kampar is mostly known for the Southwestern Passage, leading from the ocean edge through several kilometers of grassland to a vast city.
Kampar was settled twenty thousand years ago, by colonists from Alderaan. A few thousand years later, Kampar served as a chief battleground in the First Schism between the Jedi Order and the Sith. After assisting in the reconstruction of Kampar, the Jedi Order established a secondary training academy on Kampar, making it the chief planet in the Thesme Sector. This new influence brought all sorts of commerce to the cities of Kampar, and the population nearly doubled within the first year.
Several years passed by, and Kampar continued to grow in galactic influence. The senator representing Kampar on Coruscant was appointed to the supreme advisory council, and Jedi across the galaxy seeked solitude in the quiet halls of the academy. Unfortunately, when the Empire came to power, Jedi and their allies were immediately targeted. A swift attack destroyed the academy on Kampar, killing millions of citizens. The industries and commerce quickly fled Kampar, and the galactic influence they once enjoyed had vanished.
Kampar declared neutrality in the upcoming war and closed up their borders. As they work to rebuild, the peaceful people of Kampar chose solitude and serenity over conflict and bloodshed, and the new planetary council welcomes anyone to enjoy their peaceful shores.
