Nativum IV is located far from the sun in the Nativum system, a cold and bitter planet with no atmosphere. A vast plain of glaciers sprawl across forty percent the planet and the rest is dominated by caves and craters that are called home to mynock nests and other creatures that can survive in a vacuum. An enormous amount of craters have been found on Nativum IV, mainly because the asteroid belt just beyond the system finds no resistance impacting on a planet with no atmosphere.

Ignored by all planetary surveys under the Old Republic, Nativum IV was first noticed by Imperial scouts during the days of the early Empire. Several years later, Sienar Extractions found this planet to be mineral-rich underneath the caves and rock, and Sienar Technologies developed cities with artificial atmosphere and a shield strong enough to prevent asteroids from impacting in an urban area.
