The sun, as well as the system, was named after the famous Hapan settler Rembrant Aba. This man was a legend of his own time. As the leader of the first official Hapan colonization team he was responsible for many important establishments and if tragedy had not struck, more would have come. During a routine mission, flying from one newly established colony to the other, Aba experienced a malfunction in the hyper space computer of his ship which made it accidentally fly into the newly discovered systems sun. The postfix –em together with the name Aba is translated from Hapan to galactic basic as The Sun of Aba.
