Planet: Jaminere
Table of Contents [hide]

The temperate, cosmopolitan world of Jaminere is an old and respectable member of the galactic community. Its wide expanses of rolling grasslands, its beautiful verdant forests far up north, and its deep blue oceans have been a local political and cultural centre long before the formation of the Galactic Republic. The planet was settled by Humans from the Core Worlds who had arrived on their sleeper ships in the Tion Cluster more than twenty-five thousand years ago. Later, it became the capital of the Kingdom of Jaminere, which was eventually conquered and absorbed into Xim the Despot’s empire. After Xim’s fall and death, Jaminere once again became the capital of a new independent state, the Jaminere Marches. The planet’s rule extended from Embaril and Desargorr to Amarin and Argai, and it maintained a high level of influence in local politics even after these worlds had been accepted into the Galactic Republic.

Jaminere is home to a wide array of flora and fauna. The northernmost forests are largely made up of spruce-like trees and inhabited by docile animals such as the small reptilian gizka, or many beautiful and colourful species of birds which live high up in the canopy. The hardy, tall grasses of the planet-wide grasslands shelter many rodents and mammals who hide from the loth-cats hunting them, and they are home to numerous endemic insects and important pollinators which buzz around busily. The oceans, in turn, are the domain of large and majestic aquatic beings, such as the large cy'een or a plethora of more aggresive and dangerous shark-like creatures.

As the venerable metropolises of Jaminere primarily thrived on commerce and trade, the planet remained unaligned during the Clone Wars and instead became a member of the Council of Neutral Systems. It was only after the formation of the Tion Hegemony that Jaminere broke with its neutrality, and became a member planet of this new political force in the Tion Cluster. Today, the world enjoys a favoured status within its local galactic neighbourhood, and remains a prosperous and influential player in galactic politics.
