Planet: Vryssa
Table of Contents [hide]

Vryssa is a lush, remote planet in a system of the same name in the Dalicron sector. The system's single sun provides ample light and heat; ideal conditions for the process of evolution to take hold. Due to Vryssa's extreme isolation, the abundant flora and fauna on the planet remained untouched and flourish in the temperate climes of the green planet. Innumerable botanical species constitute the forests and jungles that cover most of its surface. These dense woods provide habitats for the many mammalian and reptilian species native to Vryssa, including some unusually intelligent, though primitive simians.

In Vryssa's southern hemisphere, a thin stretch of ocean runs around its circumference. This ocean is home to many brightly-colored tropical fish, as well as a variety of green-skinned, sea-going mammals similar to dolphins. At each of the planet's poles lies a stretch of uninhabitable, frozen tundra. These wastelands are home to only the hardiest of creatures, such as the rare snow-crab of Vryssa, which is said to be able to hibernate for up to 1000 years in freezing temperatures.

In spite of the absence of any industry or development on the planet, it is rumored that a dark religious order has long been active on Vryssa. Legend has it that the planet is home to several secret necropolises and temples which honored a mysterious god and that sometimes the tortured screams of the victims of ritual sacrifice can still be heard ringing eerily through the trees and brush of the forest. It is said that many treasure-hunters have entered the jungle in search of these temples, though none have ever returned to confirm the rumors.
