Nog is mostly a cold desert planet, having little vegetation. What vegetation the planet does have is centered around the equator. The result of this is that most of the planet's settlements are centered in this region, and with such limited resources to draw from it is not uncommon for conflicts to arise between colonies during droughts. Nog was one of the first planets conquered by the ancient Mandalorians during their first crusade of expansion. Because of its history with Mandalore, Mando'a remains the planet's standard language.
